In this workshop you will learn how to construct a beautiful hand-rolled edged 30cm-diameter drum lampshade in your own choice of fabric, which can then be hung from the ceiling as a pendant shade or attached to a table lamp base. We will supply the wire base, drum, and additional materials needed – all we need from you is your chosen fabric. The fabric should measure 30cm x 115cm. Please be aware that the fabric will be used horizontally (i.e. landscape) so if the print is directional, make sure that you have enough fabric for it to work across in this way as opposed to vertically. Your choice of fabric should ideally be cotton. Other fabrics (heavy twill, stretchy jersey, sheer fabrics) will be very tricky to work with.

MATERIALS REQUIRED: Bring your own choice of fabric measuring 30cm x 115cm. We can supply the fabric for you too at an additional cost of £10 (please make sure when booking to specify that you would like this option). If you would like to add trim to your lampshade, please bring this along too.
LEVEL: Beginner (no sewing required!) This is for anyone; no experience of crafts or sewing necessary as sewing is not involved, just careful manipulation of fabric, which your tutor will help you with.
